Ministry and Volunteer Opportunities
Altar Servers – Youth and Adult
Boys and girls in Grade 4 and older are invited to join this ministry of assisting at the altar during Sunday liturgies, as well as weddings. Adult altar servers assist at daily mass and at funerals. Brazilian Community
The Brazilian Community was begun in January 2002 in response to the growing influx of new Brazilians into the parish and community. Please donate any type - old, broken, used, new jewelry, rosaries, medals, beads, small religious items, small craft items, buttons. We will repair, restore, redesign these items for sales - with money donated to St. Marys charities and also for the Jordan Hospital. Christmas Bazaar
This annual event is held in early December at the Parish Center and engages a wide variety of parishioners offering crafts and various Christmas items. The bazaar not only helps with Christmas planning but also raises funds for the parish. Contact Paula Coville at 508-746-4863.
Church Environment
The goal of this committee is to improve and enhance the church worship environment during the various liturgical seasons. Contact Chris Reherman at 508-866-3364 with suggestions and feedback.
Emerald Club
The purpose of the Emerald Club is to raise money for the parish. Through monthly drawings prize money has been distributed and the parish has received money for various property projects. Contact Gloria Leighton at 781-585-1778 for more information.
Eucharistic Adoration
This ancient Catholic Eucharistic devotion is held each Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Eucharistic Ministers
This group of parishioners assist the Presider at Mass with distributing the Eucharist. Ministers also bring the Eucharist to homebound parishioners and to Jordan Hospital. Contact Father John for more information.
Family Mass
Through the weekly 10:30 a.m. Mass children of all ages are invited to worship in an age-appropriate liturgical environment.
Golf Committee
The Saint Mary Open is an annual parish golf tournament held in the fall. It is a successful parish-community builder and a fundraiser coordinated by the Golf Committee. Over 100 people play golf and attend the evening reception at Southers Marsh Golf Course. All ages are welcome to participate. Contact Tim Dwyer at 781-582-1544 for information.
Homebound Ministry
A caring group of Ministers bring the Eucharist to homebound parishioners as well as deliver church bulletins, and offer conversation and a friendly presence. Contact Paulette Harlow at 781-934-1854.

Knights of Columbus
Plymouth Council #1109 meets monthly at the Parish Center and sponsors social events during the year for the enjoyment of its members.
Lectors
A dedicated team of adults and youth parishioners assist at parish worship by proclaiming the Scripture readings at Mass and other liturgies. Readers are scheduled on a rotating basis. Contact Walter Correa at 508-746-7718.
Matthew’s Kitchen
A hot meal is provided for the needy each Saturday at 12 noon in the Parish Center. To volunteer contact Deacon Tom at 508-209-0408.
Matthew’s Shelter
On a rotating basis in conjunction with the Plymouth Coalition for the Homeless, overnight accommodations are provided in the Parish Center. Contact Deacon Tom at 508-209-0408 for more information.
Music Ministry
The music ministry strives to enhance the worship of our parish experience through the gift of active participation and song. Contact Mark Estano at 857-222-8618.
Parish Council
The Parish Council is comprised of a representative group of lay leaders. They are a consultative leadership body responsible to the pastor, assisting and supporting him. The Council is an important means by which the pastor hears the voice of the parishioners. They assist by planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinately and reviewing the evangelization, worship, and service activities within the parish. Contact Tom Nuttall at 508-746-37143
Parish Finance Council
As a consultative body the Council assists the parish by providing counsel in the administration of parish life and finances. This leadership group reviews regular financial reports and shares the information with the parish, as well as planning for future financial needs. Financial transparency is a priority. The Council assists the pastor in establishing the financial goals for the parish and identifies various projects to be addressed. They prepare an annual budget and capital needs projects. Parish Picnic
The parish picnic has been a tradition since 2003 as a community building event for all ages. The picnic begins with an outdoor Mass at Holy Ghost field followed by a cookout, games, music, and time to relax and have fun.
Religious Education – Adult
During the season of Lent the parish offers a regular adult education series of a variety of biblical themes and topics. A program is offered for Adult Catholic Confirmation during the winter months for adults 18 and older who have not yet received the sacrament.
Religious Education – Youth
The religious education program, in conjunction with the family Mass, offers a comprehensive presentation of Catholic beliefs, life and faith. Over 200 students are enrolled in Grades 1 – 10. Religious Education Advisory Board

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
Deacons Gene and Tom coordinate the RCIA process for those adults entering into full communion with the Catholic Church. They are assisted by the RCIA team of parishioners to guide those in the process through the various catechetical and liturgical steps of the process.
Rummage Sale
Rummage sales are held in the spring and fall in the Parish Center coordinated by this group of volunteers. Contact Roselle O’Keefe at 508-746-0701.
Saint Vincent DePaul Society
Outreach to the poor and needs of the parish are provided through this established group of men and women provide through a food pantry, holiday food baskets, and parish poor boxes. This society is self-sufficient. Contact Jim Kelley at 508-830-9630 for more information.
Secular Franciscans
This group meets for prayer and conversation on the first Tuesday of the month. Their group is part of national and regional fraternities. There are over 1200 fraternities across the United States. Members attend daily mass and pray the Division Office. They are involved in various apostolates and ministries. Contact Paulette Harlow at 781-585-1854 for more information.

Scouts
A group of parishioners coordinate the scout program which comprises young members of our parish as well as cluster parishes. Throughout the year various religious medals and emblems are presented at Sunday Liturgy. Contact Janet Young at 508-747-3177.
Ushers
The ushers are a dedicated group of men and women who coordinate the monetary collection at each Mass, as well as invite participants for the Presentation of the Gifts. Contact Russ Govoni at 508-746-8346.

Wedding Coordinators
A team of parishioners assist the wedding couple in the coordinating of the Rehearsal and Wedding. They contact the couple shortly before the rehearsal and review important details.
